We have worked with Multicultural NSW on several projects over the past few years aimed at upskilling colleagues both within MNSW and in other government agencies right across NSW.
The learning solution
Three specific projects covered the following topics:
Induction for new translators and interpreters
An online induction for new translators and interpreters working with Multicultural NSW, and a separate module to help them understand the practice guidelines for working in NSW courts.
An online corporate induction for all new starters to MNSW, covering onboarding, MNSW values and behaviours, and performance and development. In addition to the online module, an offline self-directed workbook supports the new starter, along with a guide for their manager.
Supporting newly arrived refugees in the workplace
An online module with downloadable tools to aid managers in supporting newly arrived refugees joining their team. The module assists managers in understanding and identifying the challenges newly arrived refugees may face, how to plan for their new starter, and how to provide appropriate and ongoing support.
