The Foundations course looked into a variety of Design Models but this course will focus on a Model that is widely used in Instructional Design Courses in the USA. The purpose of this course is to introduce the design model in the simplest way so that participants can quickly gain enough understanding to apply it to their own work. You will have the chance to make sense of the design model and see how it can be applied in case studies. The aim is for you to learn how to use the framework to guide you through the instructional design process in your workplace. It is run on a Moodle platform (Learning Management System) and consists of reading material, audio presentations, assignments, discussion forums, wikis for collaborative writing and quizzes.
This on-demand online course will consist of the following topics:
- Introducing the Instructional Design Method
- Identifying the Instructional Problem
- Analysing the Learner and Context
- Task Analysis
- Defining the Instructional Objectives
- Sequencing the Content
- Instructional Strategies
The course will be open for most of the year so that participants can start when it suits them. There is a limit of 12 participants at any one time.
The cost of this NEW course is $680 per person.
Students can take between 20 and 25 hours to complete this new course. Students may have up to 8 weeks to complete this new course.
Save $100 If you enroll for both new courses together you can get the reduced price of
$1160 $1060 for 'Foundations of Effective Instructional Design' and 'The Instructional Design Method'. You will have up to 13 weeks to complete the two courses.
